Stuart MacDonaldHead Coach at Art of Motion Fitness Academy
Personal Trainer, Sports Massage Therapist and Group PT Coach.
With a passion for all things movement I started my training journey with Kung Foo as a youngster, since then spending time training Muay Thai, Silat and certifying as a coach in 'The Approach' self-defence method.
Qualifying as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist in 2011 I picked up the CYQ personal trainer of the year award for the West Midlands and came runner up in the Nationals. When it comes to personal training I have two big passions, they are not fat loss and muscles gaining like most trainers would state. It is educating people and restoring them back to good health, these I believe are the key factors that can make the biggest difference in both your training and your life.
Ensuring that you learn what to do, how to do it and why to do it is very important for me as I believe it is this that separates a coach from an instructor. I also believe that it is this constant learning and growing process that helps make training a way of life rather than a means to an end.
I am also passionate about restoring health to people, this means viewing the health of the body as a whole. Aiming to improve strength and fitness as much as we are aiming to improve posture, mobility and eating and sleeping habits. I believe it is important to not only look better but feel better and my aim with every client is to improve their life in as many way as possible. I also carry out strength and conditioning coaching for multiple professional athletes in Solihull and Birmingham using a unique combination of traditional strength training and a more holistic style of functional movement training.

Natasha O'CoyPersonal Trainer at Art of Motion Fitness Academy
After many years of competitive dancing and teaching dance, in 2001 I decided to go down the fitness route and went back to college and took the qualification in exercise to music, I began teaching numerous classes and freelanced in different health clubs across solihull and birmingham. In 2006 I then took the gym instruction and personal training qualification to broaden my skills.
I have had so much experience in the fitness industry, such as studio manager, member service manager and health and fitness manager. Teaching group exercise is my passion and making people feel good about themselves is what I love.
Training clients on a 1:1 by helping them develop there self confidence and changing there lifestyle is what motivates me with personal training, I train clients with different styles, such as freestyle to traditional and now developing and enhancing my personal skills within functional movement I will deliver that in my group exercise and 1:1 sessions.

Daniel WatsonPersonal Trainer at Art of Motion Fitness Academy
Growing up, I always enjoyed playing sports and being generally active, so it came as no surprise when I made the decision to pursue a career in personal training.
After qualifying as a fitness instructor in 2006/07, I started my first job in the industry working for David Lloyd in 2008. It was working here where I qualified as a level 3 Personal Trainer and started training my first few clients and loved it!
My key focus to physical training is making sessions functional - Meaning, we train movements rather than muscles. By focussing on this, we teach the body to work as one (the way it is designed to work). I find, when pairing functional training with educated nutritional choices, people progress and develop in all aspects of their lives.
I strongly believe peoples mind set is highly important when it comes to health and fitness. This is why I teach people to make exercise and nutrition a lifestyle change, rather than a short-term fix to a problem. A key part to this is forming good habits that are maintainable over the long-term.
Motivation will get you started, Habit keeps you going.
